Same type of breakfast for the last 8 days: waffles, pastries, muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, sausage, oatmeal, sometimes biscuits and gravy, eggs, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and tea. It was a variety, but it was getting old. At 10:30 a.m., we were “On the Road Again.” My co-captain was mad because she had to sit in the back for the first time with. Now the Annoyer, was annoyed. My co-captain’s shift usually began after 12. She slept until then. Matthew was unhappy with the snoring of the “sleeposaurus”, as he called her. 10:50 am. we were in Ohio, and we stopped at McDonald’s for restroom break #622. Matthew refused to get back in the van. I had to pretend to leave him. I was ready to lose my religion and abort this mission, again. Kyla dragged him back into the van and we drove through a rainstorm in Ohio. When we got to Indiana, the Navigator gave me directions to loop around Pleasant Lake in Michigan so we could add that state to our database. Katrina complained about Kelsey’s breath stinking, so she brushed her teeth on the side of the road when we stopped for more pictures for our records. Katrina gagged when she spit in the grass. Then there was an argument about seating arrangements. That was settled and Kelsey grudgingly drove. It was 4:45 p.m. and Kelsey was speeding mad down the freeway while arguing. That quickly came to an end when the Indiana police pulled her over and lucky for her only gave her a warning. That humbled her and shut her up. She drove for 2 hours until we stopped at a service plaza. I ordered chicken from Roost. Do not confuse with The Roost Fried Chicken or Roost Chicken and Biscuits. A chicken should never cross the road to this place. I waited 40 minutes for chicken only for them to get the order wrong and the food did not taste good. On to Illinois at 7:30 p.m. and Wisconsin at 8:30 p.m. A storm was brewing through both states. I could barely see in front of me. I took the last restroom break until I reached Bloomington in 4 hours. I booked a room at the Radisson Blu at the Mall of America. It was $124 for a 4.5 star hotel. The sweet tea, the only decent thing from Roost, kept me awake along with talking on the phone. At 1:56 a.m., I drove into the hotel parking garage. It was a ritzy hotel with an escalator to the rooms. We were on the 8th floor. This was unlike any other hotel we had stayed in.
