Day 4-June 2

We needed to get to New York City tonight! It was to our disadvantage that we woke up late, again. The water in the shower smelled like rotten eggs. A piece of the wall was torn in the bathroom. Some of the crew, me and the male members, got to breakfast 5 minutes before it closed. It didn’t seem like we missed anything great. The hashbrowns were burnt and flavorless. I grabbed some dry pastries, then we got on the road at 10:30 a.m. and crossed over into Ohio. We decided to leave a review for the Ratchet Ramada in Angola. Other reviews read, “Comfortable, but water had a smell to it.” “Smelly room. Old dry breakfast.” “I will not stay here again.” “Old and outdated.” There were some decent reviews, but those must have been from friends of the staff. By far, the worst hotel stay. On the Ohio turnpike, I paid the most expensive toll, $19. It also had the most police presence. We were in Pennsylvania by 3 p.m., At 6:30 p.m., we stopped at Wendy’s near Clearfield and my co-captain took over again. There were so many hours driving through Pennsylvania. It was dark when we got to New Jersey. Our arrival time was estimated at 11:15 p.m. We got there at 11:21 p.m. after missed turns and avoiding an accident. 45-34 165th Street, Flushing Queens. It was a quaint 2-bedroom apartment on the second floor in an Asian neighborhood. It must have been a really safe neighborhood because the entrance door to the building was unlocked. I opened the door to the apartment and saw three little baby cockroaches crawling across the floor. Ewww! I called the owner. She was immediately at the door with bug spray. A few minutes later, I congratulated Kyla for 18 years of service.
